In 1964 my poppa was in a Border War. He was patrolling along the border of the British colony Malaysia because Borneo wanted it's land back. Borneo is a large island in Indonesia but there neighbours Malaysia owns 1/3 of it plus there own Island, so Borneo wanted to push them back so
they could own the whole island.
The Royal NZ infantry regiment was what he served in  when he was overseas.For his service he got three medals. He got a black & white medal for New Zealand operation of service, a purple & green medal for patrolling the border of Borneo & a third medal that was Yellow, blue and  red was for his service in Malaysia.
