Revenge by Alex

Revenge
Pain controlled my body. The world was spinning and every part of me throbbed. Murmurs of people talking filled my mind and I could only see dark blurry shapes. Blood was trickling down my cheek like tear drops. Suddenly a bright light was shined in my eyes causing even more pain, but that’s when everything went black.

I woke up with a start, my vision clearer than before. The sound of people yelling and things plummeting to the ground with a smash, filled my ears. I eyed my surroundings carefully, realising I was in my bedroom at home and the people fighting were my parents. I tiptoed out of my room and crept down the stairs to take a closer look at what was happening. It was a frightening scene. My mum was huddled in a corner with blood pouring down her cheek. My dad was on a rampage hurling things at her. I turned around hearing footsteps behind me. I saw nothing, it must be my pure imagination.

I went back into my room, packing my bags as I couldn’t handle the violent fighting. I sprinted down the stairs and crept into the outside world that awaited me. I had no place to go but nevertheless I carried on like a soldier. Suddenly a face appeared out of nowhere knocking me on the cold cement footpath. As the ground met my face, time seemed to fall to a stop giving me time to see who it was. I gasped in horror seeing the familiar face of nine lives.

An evil grin was stretched across her pale face. Her wild red hair was tamed back into a ponytail. Dressed completely in black, she tied my hands behind my back and carried me over to a battered lorry. She threw me with immense power into the back of the lorry. I groaned in agony that I had been captured. Once again nine lives was up to her usual mischief.

The run down lorry rumbled along the dusty road as we ventured deeper into the countryside. Fear fulfilled me as a rundown warehouse came into view. The engine roared to a stop and the lorry doors swung open, giving me the fright of my life. I stood up weakly as she aimed an unknown object at me. Waves of excruciating pain came over me making me weak in the knees. Soon after my legs gave way and I collapsed on the ground with an enormous thud. “Excellent” she said smirking with pleasure.
With no energy to fight back, I was helpless. My body seemed to be paralyzed as she dragged me into the gloomy warehouse. There seemed to be nobody there but boy was I wrong. Footsteps rang out as nine lives left me in the middle of the warehouse. I sat still, fear curdling through me.
